I want to migrate from EE3 to EE4 and tried importing previous data but after running migration manager, I get the following message: “An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key has not been set. For EE3+ users, please go to the Event Espresso General Settings page to set your Support License Key. For EE4+ users, please go to the Your Organization Settings page.” When I click on either the link to the Your Organization Settings page OR the General Settings page, I get another message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” We are running wordpress version: 4.1.1,. Can this be solved somehow? |
Hi, Please try a re-install of your software. Begin by backing up your WordPress: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/ Next, download the latest version of your Event Espresso 4 software from your account: https://eventespresso.com/users/fulbright/#ee4-downloads Now login to your WordPress admin and go to Plugins. Locate Event Espresso in the list of plugins and deactivate it. Then delete the plugin. From the WP Plugins screen in the WordPress admin and click on Add New –> Upload. Then browse to the zip file that you downloaded from your account. Select it and begin the upload process. You can activate Event Espresso after it has finished. This is similar to our upgrade steps here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#ee4 — |

Thank you for your assistance! I wasn’t able to migrate the data from EE3 but did manage to activate EE4. |
Hi, Were there any errors during the migration? What version of Event Espresso 3 are you currently running? — |
|
|
That would be Version 3.1.36.5.P |

No error messages appeared during the migration. Everything seemed to have migrated fine but I got the message “An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key has not been set. For EE3+ users, please go to the Event Espresso General Settings page to set your Support License Key. When I clicked on the link to the Your Organization Settings page OR the General Settings page, I get another message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” |
Hi, it sounds like the upgrade did not complete correctly or the install was overwritten. When you re-installed Event Espresso, did you remove Event Espresso (old version) through the WP dashboard and then download a new copy of Event Espresso 4 and install through WP Plugins? — |
