I installed all the EE4 files and deactivated EE3…which I have done 15 times…but this time it did not go through the database upgrade. When i went to EVENTS, it stopped at December 2016.

Hi Dorian,

If EE4 had been installed prior to now, that would prevent the migration from EE3 from running. You can actually delete the EE4 data via the Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset page. That will also deactivate EE4 when it’s done. Then you reactivate EE4 again and it will show the prompt to migrate the EE3 data.

That won’t delete any event data correct?

That’s incorrect.

It will delete the current EE4 data from the site and migrate the data over from EE3.

You can not migrate data from EE3 to EE4 is you already have EE4 data in your database.

Did you previously use EE4 on the site for registrations then revert back to EE3? If so the registrations (and all EE4 data) create with EE4 during that period will be lost if you migrate.

I think what happened a while back is I tried upgrading to EE4 and it froze so I had to exit out of the upgrade and went back to EE3. I just need to make sure I don’t lose existing future events.

Are the future events there when EE3 is activated or are the future events there when EE4 is activated?

Right now with EE3 activated are the events I need. When I activate EE4, it shows from December 2016 on back…I dont need those.

OK so you can delete the EE4 data by going to Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset page and click on the button for deleting all EE4 data. That will also deactivate EE4 when it’s done. Then you reactivate EE4 again and it will show the prompt to migrate the EE3 data.

I don’t see Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset page in EE3. Am I supposed to deactivate all EE3, activate EE4 then do it?

Hey Dorian,

Yes, you should deactivate EE3 first, then activate EE4, then visit the Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset page in EE4. Once you are done, you can activate EE3 again if needed. Or activate EE4 again to start the migration to from EE3 to EE4.
