GAH! I am losing it. I can’t find where to add a ticket selector to save my life. It’s not in documentation, I have the payment gateway set up. I have the tickets, and custom tickets created. But on my events there are no tickets. You’d think this would be the easiest part of event sales is showing a ticket for sale. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the event registration page, like so: http://sidney.eetesting.info/desktop/EE3-master/?page_id=4&ee=1? There is a ticket selector at the top of the form.

Yeah -http://pesa.minervadevsites.com/event-registration-2/?ee=1
But I am not getting the ticket selector. Is there a shortcode I am missing?

I’d pay for some help – if you could spare the time. I think ya’ll are officially closed at the moment.

Looks like you have the registration form turned off on the event. Are you using the MER registration process instead? If you go back to this page: http://pesa.minervadevsites.com/event-registration-2/ there is an add-to-cart link. You can also add that link to the event description with a shortcode, so it won’t be confusing for the customer.

But I need a ticket selector – It said somewhere in the documentation that turning off registration would allow for the ticketing to show up. I have tried just about everything I can get a hold of.
Really what I WANT, and I know it isn’t rocket science, I had it with EE4 (but needed addons that weren’t available so had to buy EE3)
I want my Event to display – at a predesignated space have an option to chose tickets, in some cases multiple tickets, then, when you go to pay for the tickets add your registration information into the page – There’s no need to register for an event you haven’t paid for.

Once the event is added to the cart, view the cart. The ticket selector is in the shopping cart page. Sorry for the confusion, “ticket selector” means different things in EE3 regular reg process, EE3 MER reg process, and EE4.

Oh so with MER active you can’t view ticket selection on the event, it’s on cart only?

Actually I think I have the drop down but figured out where it’s going wrong. Instead of sending a person to the cart when they hit Submit – it sends them to a wonky page for emailing a friend about the event. Which is why, since i am not seeing a cart anywhere. I am having issues trying to get them to pay for the event. http://pesa.minervadevsites.com/event-registration-2/?ee=1

It was a mail plugin blocking me. Well that’s one hurdle over.

Hi,

Did you need further help with this support request or has it been resolved by deactivating another plugin?

It was resolved, though through a bunch of different things – not just the plugin. There’s no actual way to list tickets like ee4 on ee3, it seems half the really needed functionality in ee3 is in ee4 and vise versa. I wish there was just one plugin – having 2 confuses EVERYTHING. However, is there a downloadable documentation for EE3? The online documentation keeps throwing me to ee4 information and honestly, I just want to search only ee3 documents. Until ee4 uses users, I can’t use it.

The added functionality that EE4 offers couldn’t be added to EE3 because of structural problems with the code. It took a rewrite of the foundational architecture, which became EE4. The good news is that the functionality that EE3 offers that is lacking in EE4 will be added into EE4. It will just take many, many hours of coding, testing, and debugging. What is the WP Users feature from EE3 that you need in EE4?

Importantly I need to be able to track people who have attended events in the past. If, say, Bob goes to event A, B, C, but doesn’t go to even D I need to be able to check on that to find out if maybe something is lacking in event D – Or I can say, “Well Bob attended 7 of the last 10 events, and paid X amount for event registration. Bob is a member of company XYZ and all together that companies employees spent X amount on events this year.” This way when the company comes time to renew I can tell them “You saved XX amount for your employees by being a member.”
Also needed Member pricing. 🙂
Also, I need to be able to use Intuit payment portal. That wasn’t offered in EE4 which is why I went to EE3. All in all though, I liked EE4 more – it seemed to be more user friendly, that could be because I am trying to fine tune EE3 more than I did in ee4 and it’s not easy to figure out how to manipulate and maneuver, I would give my right arm for a guide that didn’t include the online guide. It keeps running me in circles.

Don’t get me wrong. I was using Event on before this and honestly, this is by far a much better plugin. Everything worth using is worth working for though right? EE has so much potential and I think once I get over this initial hump and start figuring stuff out – EE will work so much better for me than any other plugin in the category.

The WP-User to EE4-Contact tracking is set up and running in the early alpha of the EE4 WP-User’s add-on, which would let you get a list of the events that a particular user has registered for. We’ve been on hold for more development of that add-on until the rewrite to allow promotion codes has been completed, which is in the 4.6 upstream branch, so that we can hook into the pricing system and allow member pricing. Likewise, we’ve been on hold for porting gateways from EE3 to EE4 until the gateway system rewrite has been completed, also slated for 4.6.
We are trying to roll out the new features as fast as we can, but we’ve also put into place a system of much more rigorous quality assurance procedures to prevent the rollout of an update that would break existing functionality.
