On the promo codes documentation page (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/promotional-codes/), it notes that in 3.1.29.1, dollar amount discounts were changed to apply to each ticket. This has broken some of our existing promo codes, and seems like an odd change. Fundamentally, it is no different than a percentage discount, meaning there is no distinction between the two. (e.g. for a $10 ticket, a 50% off promo code or a $5 off promo code do the exact same thing)
We need a promo code that gives the user one free ticket, so if they buy five $10 tickets, a $10 discount should be applied to the whole transaction, making the total $40. How do we do that now that this change has broken promo codes?
(We are stuck using EE3 because of the ticketing options available.)
Does EE4 have an option to issue only one ticket per purchase. The issue we ran into last time we tried to upgrade is that we sell tickets to elementary school groups who might bring 20-100 kids. We don’t want the teachers having to print off that many tickets. EE3 does just one ticket per purchase. Is that option available in EE4 now?
Also, You didn’t address why the change was made. Again, it’s functionally equivalent to a percentage discount, so the distinction between the two is useless. Or am I missing something?
We’re in the middle of our busiest concert season and we’re having to process all of these discounts by hand. Any word on this?
