Hi there I was updating from a much older version of EE to the latest version and have hit a problem. Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/homepages/13/d389341762/htdocs/cricnew/test/wp-content/plugins/espresso-calendar.1.11/calendar_admin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php5′) in /homepages/13/d389341762/htdocs/cricnew/test/wp-content/plugins/espresso-calendar/espresso-calendar.php on line 116 – any suggestions? |

Hi James, It looks like your site has both versions (new and old) of the calendar active. You can avoid the error by deactivating the old version of the calendar. Here’s a link to a guide that shows how to deactivate plugins when you don’t have WordPress admin access: http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/ |

Hi Josh Now just one other query with the install – the Custom Files Add On won’t install. Just comes up with message – The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found. |

Hi James, It turns out that the Custom Files add-on is not a plugin. It’s actually a group of files that can be used by a PHP developer. There is more information along with installation instructions here: |

Actually just seen that this needs to be done via FTP |

Hi James, Do you need the Custom Files Add-on? It is basically a way for you to override core functions within a single file (which you may or may not need to do), by all means you can install this add-on but personally I would not install it unless intending to use it (many users do not need this functionality). |
