Hi Guys,
I’ve had this site running for a couple of years and the issue I had was with the Paypal.php file in uploads/espresso/gateway – http://screencast.com/t/A0fiMf2hu8

By removing all the paypal gateway files, this removed the error, and proceeded to payment. However, once the payment has been accepted by Paypal, it starts to load the thank you page, and then diverts back to the entry details for payment at Paypal.
I have subsequently updated WP, EE, and the theme, and this error is still existing. The 4 main pages were all previously using ‘RAW’ tags around them to display correctly. I have removed the RAW tags on the thank you page, and this is still producing the loop.
Should the thank you be forced SSL as this still produces the error either way.
Any ideas?

Hi Ben,
It’s likely the settings combined with a delay from PayPal’s IPN. If you go into the Event Espresso > Manage Payment Gateways > PayPal gateway’s settings and see that the bypass payment overivew page option is set to Yes, that’s what’s causing loop.
You can stop it from looping by either setting Bypass Payment Overview Page to No or setting “Show payment options for “Pending Payments” on the Payment Overview page?” to No in Event Espresso > General Settings.
If both are set to yes, and I’m guessing this is the case here, the redirect will happen if PayPal’s Instant Payment Notification doesn’t make it back before you return from PayPal.
As an aside, please swap out the Espresso SSL/HTTPs plugin. That’s been dropped and we recommend using the WordPress HTTPS plugin instead if you want to secure pages.
