Good Morning 🙂
I’m running EE3 Version 3.1.37.5.P on wordpress 4.3.
I’ve been using PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro for some time, with no problems. Payments going through PayPal Pro are still working just fine.
However, payments coming through PayPal Standard are not updating in Event Espresso. Checking the IPN history, the IPN messages have been received – code 200 with no retries.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea what’s changed?

Quick update. I’ve now played around in the sandbox, and can definitely confirm that while paypal standard payments are going through, they are not updating in Event Espresso. I’m therefore seeing incomplete payments in the attendee list and the attendees aren’t getting their automatic confirmation emails.
Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

Hi Maria,
Are you using any security or spam plugins such as WordFence or WP-SpamSheild?

Hi Tony,
Yes, I’m using WordFence. But the problem still persists if I turn WordFence off.

Wordfence can add rules to your htaccess file, so de-activating Wordfence often doesn’t… well turn off WordFence 🙂
But lets check you PayPal settings before digging deeper.
Can you follow the steps here please:

The main one being the ‘PayPal button language encoding’ section but it would be good to verify the other sections too.
