I am currently using EE3 and I understand that EE3 is not compatable with EE3. If I decide to ugrade to EE4 will my events be transferrable and if so, how can this be done

Hi Mark,

How are you today?

What problems are you facing with EE3 and PHP 8.0?

The migration process from EE3 to EE4 has been available for years. Your events and data will be migrated following this process: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-upgrade-event-espresso/#migrate-to-event-espresso-4

Back in November there was a capabality isuue when upgraded to PHP 8. I contacted Kinsta and to research the error and this is what they sent:
“PHP message: PHP Warning: Declaration of Espresso_Authorize::submitPayment() should be compatible with Espresso_PaymentGateway::submitPayment($fields = false) in /www/foodsafetypacom_508/public/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways/authnet/Authorize.php on line 163PHP message: PHP Warning: session_id(): Cannot change session id when session is active in /www/foodsafetypacom_508/public/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/process-registration/payment_page.php on line 497”

The techs oping was: Looks like and payment gateway error.

PHP warnings do not indicate incompatibility, they are warnings for possible future changes.

I’ll have our developer team look at it.
