I have EE3 3.1.35 running on WordPress 4.2.4 with WP User Integration. When someone who already is a user in wordpress tries to register using the same email address, nothing happens. There does not appear to be a notification saying that the user already exists, or that they should send a password reset request instead. Is there anyway around this? This is causing issues for people who don’t remember they even have an account and are thinking that they are actually registering but not getting a registration email.
It turns out that EE3’s WP User Integration add-on does not check. You can make logging in required before registration for an event. That way if they forget to log in it will prompt them to do so.
One of the things we added to EE4’s WP User integration add-on is a check for the email address, and if it’s an email address that matches a registered user, it prompts the registered user to log in.
