I am using EE3, and the Advanced Access Manager plugin.
EE3 is set to “ADMINISTRATOR” by default, and I’m not sure where to change this. I have tried to look for the “ee_” capabilities so I can’t add them to my editor, but they do not exist in the Advanced Access Manager plugin like all the other capabilities for other plugins do. I have the option to “add” a capability, but where can I find a list of what capabilities I would need? Is there an easier way to allow editor access to EE3, some code in the functions file perhaps?

Hi Karen,
The recommended way forward would be to use Event Espresso 4 as it has the capabilities mapped to specific features within Event Espresso.
If you absolutely need to use Event Espresso 3, they you could use the Roles and Permissions add-on for Event Espresso 3 for the time being:

Hello Josh,
I can’t remember whom I spoke with when I was debating moving from 3 to 4, but they suggested I stay with 3, so that’s what I did. Is there any chance this plugin is bundled with what I’ve already paid for so I don’t have to spend $80 just to un-hide the menu from an editor? There must be some code I can add into my functions file. $80 seems outrageous.

I can recommend updating to EE4. You’ll be able to use a free plugin like Members or User Role Editor to assign ee_ caps to the editor role. There isn’t a free solution available for EE3 that can get this done.
