So I’m not sure what just happened but EE3 is acting up on me. I was creating new events and everything was fine (in Google Chrome) and then all of the sudden whenever I would click on event overview the events would show up briefly and then disappear completely. I checked to see if FF was doing this (it wasn’t) and it has decided to start showing up again in chrome, not sure what the deal was there, but it’s never happened before. But now whenever I try to create a new event I am getting some weird things that I’ve never seen before either:

Some settings are carrying over from the last event I tried to create – something failed and it did not get created, I didn’t notice an error at the time of creation but the event doesn’t exist in the system. When I try to create a new event:

1) The event has 3 start times listed now, no idea why, and they are all 7am – 3pm, which are the times that I created for the event that did not get created.

2) The event has 3 prices listed, the name and price are all pre-entered from the previous event I created as well.

3) The category from the last I event I created is selected already.

4) If I delete those and create the event how I want it and submit it, I get this error:

There was an error in your submission. The event was not saved! Please try again.
WordPress database error: []
INSERT INTO wp_events_prices (event_id, event_cost, surcharge, surcharge_type, price_type, member_price, member_price_type) VALUES (0, ‘49.95’, ‘0.00’, ‘flat_rate’, ‘Book Price’, ‘49.95’, ‘Members Admission’)

I did not change anything, so I have no idea what just caused this. I had to go in and create 3 events, I made the first two no problem and then the third one didn’t create and all these errors have popped up since. I am on 3.1.36.6P and haven’t updated to the new WP yet (I know I need to do the EE update first when I do). Not sure if I want to try updating anything right now with this issue, figured I’d ask before doing anything.

Thanks

Hi Yolande,

The WordPress security fix that was automatically pushed out earlier this week it causing the breakage. You’ll need to update to the current version of EE3 (now 3.1.37.2) to get the compatibility fix. This will allow for saving events.

The other part of what you’re seeing is the remnants of the failed event save. The remnants include the prices and datetimes from the event that did not saved. Those can be removed from the _events_prices and _events_start_end tables. Any row with the event_ID == 0 can be removed.

If you prefer that someone from Event Espresso support staff remove those unsaved event remnants, please fill out the form on this page completely and we can do that.

Thank you Josh! May have just ran into a separate issue, I’m going to test a few times and will open a new thread if I can’t solve it.
