Plugins were update on the site aiact.org this morning. My Client is positive event expresso wasn’t one of the plugins requesting update. After the plugin updated the event expresso plugins were disabled. When we tried to activate them, they updated the plug-in to EE4. But no data showed up. Migrations was requested. Client is in the process of a major event and didn’t want to get bogged down with the migration and problems that might arise.

We decided to
1. Put in a request for a site restore to earlier this morning.
2. Migrate the data just to see if there would be a problem in the future.

The migration said it was successful, but no data appears on the calendar or in the dashboard.

There are two disturbing issues here.
1. why did the plugin update to EE4?
2. why didn’t the data populate the plugin.

Looking forward to your feedback,

Thanks

HI there,

The 1-click updates do not happen automatically, someone would have had to click an update notification link.

Re:

It depends on what they selected when the migration was run, and which version of EE you were previously on.

There is a new version of Event Espresso 3 that’s available now (3.1.37.p) so if you want to continue using EE3, you can download and install this version from your account page.

Hi Josh, Sorry I’m just getting back to you. I can’t explain how the update happened. I did do the migration and this is where my concern lies. When I migrated from 3 to 4 non of the data came across. I have since restored the site site an early version so I can’t do any trouble shooting with out going throught the process again. At some point in the future they will want to update to 4. How much time would we have to purchase to have you do the update?

Thanks.

Hi, if this was a restore from a database backup, then your prior information should be there along with your settings.

If you restored by removing the Event Espresso 4 plugin and then adding the Event Espresso 3 plugin, then some of the WordPress pages may still need to be updated to the correct shortcodes.

Please check them via WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings.

Again, the steps above depend on how you restored the site.

We do not offer upgrade services at this time. We recommend checking with one of our Event Espresso professionals here:
