Under the edit page for an event, the featured image sidebar is not working correctly. There is the option to “Add Featured Image” and when clicked it displays a popup of the Media Library, and when an individual image is selected, the only option is to “Insert Into Post”, which does not save/add the selected image as the Featured Image.
I have enabled the template setting:
“Display featured images in the event list and registration pages?”
Is there a step missing, what more needs to be done to allow the Featured Image to save in the admin?
That means something on your site is changing the image_default_link_type option from the default value of ‘file’ to something else.
You can try changing that back if preferred, although whatever has set it to something else may then stop working.
Go to {domain}/wp-admin/options.php
Search for image_default_link_type
It should be set to just file
You can leave it as if preferred, just remember to press that File URL button before insert.
