Hi, I renewed my EE3 License in May 2015 after using it for a year. Before this current set of issues, it seemed to work fine for single events with small numbers of participants (30+) and booking limits of up to 4 tickets per transaction. I am now using it for a trio of events. This three events are a little larger, with 60 tickets for each event and a maximum group purchase of 6 tickets per transaction. We are using the Custom Ticket function for the first time, and this is also the first time we are using the Registration for Multiple Events function. Since the day we opened registrations on 15th June 2015, there has been no end to the problems that we have encountered. Here are the current issues that we have: 1. We have received payment advisories from PayPal, but the registrations do not show up on the event paid for. 2. For every payment transaction advisory that we have received from PayPal which has been updated for the event, it shows an incomplete status. We have had to manually check and update each transaction to the complete status. 3. EE used to send us (the event organiser) a copy of the email (with the ticket and invoice) which the attendee receives. It doesn’t do that anymore. 4. After we have updated the attendees’ status to complete, EE does not update the inventory of tickets left for sale on the event registration page. 5. The only way we have managed to get the ticket inventory change to update, is by deactivating and re-activating the EE plugin. We have tried all sorts of actions to see if there is any conflicting plugins including: 1. We have reset the PayPal IPN. 2. We have tried working without unnecessary plugins. 3. We have deactivated all the other EE plugins that we were not using. The problems still persist. We are using: Event Espresso version: 3.1.37.4.P Installed plugins |
Hi Daniel, I’m sorry your having problems. This looks like a annual event so I’m assuming your previous events we aroudn this time last year? The reason I ask is WordPress recently (4.2+) introduced a new security feature that causes problems with PayPal IPN’s if they contain non-latin characters. So I’m just trying to rule out if your events were working recently then stopped, or worked before this security update and now do not.
When you resent the IPN what was the status shown for that IPN? Based on your location I’m assuming most of your registrations will be using non-latin characters, or the users details within PayPal will be using these. Can you follow the steps here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#encoding To make sure your IPN is encoded using UTF-8. If you look at one of these registrations that have already paid, does the ‘Total Amount Owing’ and ‘Total Amount Paid to Date’ show different values or the same? |
