WP 3.8.1, EE 2.1.P (new), http://www.delabee.com/event-registration/,
When you click on the ‘Register NOw” button (on an event on the event calendar at the above link), EE will not direct you to FirstData e4 payment gateway. All of the settings are correct in the Payment Settings tab. Is there a link that I manually have to put somewhere?.
Thanks!

Hi there,

I checked your site and it looks like the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode was removed from the event-registration page and replaced with the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode.

You’ll will need to set up a page that has [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] on it and point the main registration page setting in Event Espresso > General Settings to the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] page. Please be sure that the pages are set up as outlined in the documentation:

Thanks Josh. I have made the changes that you’ve suggested successfully, but now the “event calendar” menu tab bypasses the calendar and links direct to a page that has the events listed in a row. (www.delabee.com, and then click menu item “event calendar”) (http://www.delabee.com/event-registration/).
Finally, when you attempt to register for a class after entering your personal data, you get a notice that warns you about proceeding because you are going to an “unsecured page.” Any insights here?
Thanks!
~M~

Hello,

Could you create a new WordPress page and add the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode to that page?

Then update your navigation link for Event-Calendar to point to that new page.

I did not see the message about un-secure browsing. I added an event to the cart and then continued the registration process to the First Data payment page:

Are you using a current web browser?

I have a page titled “Event Calendar” with this on it: Place your mouse over the event to see the description [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR]. And this: Permalink: http://www.delabee.com/event-calendar/ ?

The “Event Calendar” menu tab is labeled: Event Calendar (http://www.delabee.com farthest right) but links you to the registration page (http://www.delabee.com/event-registration/)

It seems to me that the Event Calendar menu tab should link the event calendar, And THEN the “Register Now” button should link to the registration page.

Can and How do I make that happen-easy steps please. 😉 Thx!

About the payment gateway, It looks like one of my customers got the same message, because they registered for the class without paying. Can I make it so they cannot register without payment?

Re: Lorenzo’s response and questions:

The error message occurs after you complete and submit the form on the link he pasted, and my browser is up-to-date.

Thanks

Please see the following screenshot:

The link called Event-Calendar is actually linked to your event registration page. It should be linked to this page (your event calendar):

http://www.delabee.com/event-calendar/

You would need to update your navigation to point to the link above. The first location that I would check would be WordPress admin –> Appearance –> Menus

What web browser are you using?

I am using Safari. I followed to “menus” and I added a menu tab called Event Registration. I changed the event calendar url to http://www.delabee.com/event-calendar
screen shot:

Now, how do I get the “register now” button to point to the ‘event registration’ page?

Please adjust your settings for your calendar in WordPress admin –> Event Espresso –> Calendar Settings –> Link to Post or Registration Page

Yay! That worked! Thank you so much!

The last problems that I am having occur after you fill out the form ->
=http://cl.ly/image/3J01143G3z03 You will get a pop-up that says that you are going to an unsecured page.*
2) Also, at this point and if you say that you do not want to go to the page, EE has registered the person into the class without payment. Is there a way to change this?
3) The last thing that I need is to make sure that they get an email that has a “policy” blurb in it. Can I do that?

Many Thanks!
~M~

P.S. I have resolved #1 listed above. It is indicating that my website is not secure.

Great! For the other questions, you can get those setup using WordPress admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings.

You’ll want to disable pre-approval which can be found in the Advanced Features area of the General Settings page.

To add the policy message, you can edit one of the email message templates under Email Settings which is also located on the General Settings page.

Be sure to scroll down and click on Save Options after making these changes.

I have completed all of your recommendations (Disabled pre-approval), and I am still having the issue where each time I register for an event, the seats decrease by one, even if I don’t go through the payment portion.

I also need to add a 6% sales tax to each item. I made the change in the “Advanced Features,” under “Defualt Surcharge (this value will be automatically filled in for each price type when creating an event):” The tax does not show. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you turn of preapproval for the event itself?

http://cl.ly/image/1k3g2t241O2j

You’ll also need to update the pricing for the event or events that you want to add this tax to. It will look like this on the event page:

Lorenzo,

I am not getting the “attendee pre-approval required” option. I have a “members option’ under the “add featured image” option.

As for the Event Pricing…mine is a little different->
“Name 1”, “Price,” “Surcharge,” “Surcharge Type” boxes going down the page.

Am I using an earlier version? I was advised on to switch to “beta’ version?

Thanks

Hello again,

Could you share the version of EE that you are running? This is available in WordPress admin –> Plugins. Then look for Event Espresso in the plugins list.

Version 3.1.36.4.P

It seems that I am unable to make changes to the text when adding or editing information. I cannot add/edit text when creating an event. It seems to be systemic, because I am unable to edit my confirmation emails in the “Email Manager” as well.

You should be able to make changes to events that have different statuses: active, inactive, etc

Could you try temporarily disabling all plugins and reactivating Event Espresso?

Then check to see if you can make changes to your events.

If you can, enable your other plugins one-by-one to find the source of the conflict.

Reactivate ALL EE plug-ins (ie, mailchimp integrations, api, etc…) at once? There aren’t any conflicts among all of the EE features, right?

I have a test site running the current version of EE3 along with the latest addons so you should be okay with reactivating EE3 and addons.

Again, this is just a quick test to try to find the conflict.

It is still happening. I think it might be the “visual editor” that is in conflict, which is an integral part of the website theme. It allows me to enter information without having to enter code.

M

March 12, 2014 at 10:29 am

BTW…I only have EE plug-ins active.

Hello again,

It would be helpful if I could see the WordPress admin area.

Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so I can take a closer look at this issue?

Please share that temporary login through the secure link below:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

To prevent delays in troubleshooting, be sure to double check your information on the form before submitting. The submit button for the form appears after you have answered “Yes” to the last question.

Thank you.

M, that’s likely your theme breaking the editor box if the visual editor isn’t working. You can verify whether that’s the case by installing the theme test drive plugin and test driving the twentyfourteen theme.

Lorenzo…made a mistake and made you a “chat administrator” and changed it to “administrator” You should be good-to-go, now.
