Hi,

Firstly, my apology if this appears to be a trivial query but I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Seeking to expand my website to include selling a range of courses directly to the public. People would select the course and register online for the course. The list of courses includes ITIL, PRINCE2, etc (professional courses).

Requirements are:
– Ability to create and schedule courses online (Each course to have a page with link to registration page).
– Ability for one or more persons to be registered for a course. Example is a group booking made by a company on behalf of its staff.
– We need ability to define the registration details to be captured at time of registration.
– Ability to pay (via Paypal or other) or have invoice generated for payment (for group bookings say).
– Ability to track participants against courses (for record and accreditation purposes). This should include option to extract list of participants for a course.
– Integration with Mailchimp is a highly desirable for newletters covering key courses.
– Automation with Xero would be nice but not essential
– Integration with Insightly (CRM) also nice to have but not essential.

We are looking at hosting 1-2 courses per month with no more than 20 per course (not large volume really).

What EE version would meet our needs and allow us to get moving quickly?

Again – sorry if this appears trivial. I am looking for some advice to get us started.

Thanks

George

Hi George,

Event Espresso currently meets all of your requirements apart from:

– Automation with Xero would be nice but not essential
– Integration with Insightly (CRM) also nice to have but not essential.

We currently do not have integrations for either of those services.

It will also depend on the extent of tracking you are looking for:

– Ability to track participants against courses (for record and accreditation purposes). This should include option to extract list of participants for a course.

You can produce lists of registrations in CSV format but it depends on what you would like reporting? With EE4 when a user registers onto an event they create a ‘contact’, you can view this contact and see all the registrations made for this contact (as long as they use the same details, Fname, Lname, email) but currently we do not have extensive reporting on the classes they have attended.

Both EE3 and EE4 will suit the requirements set above, Personally I would use EE4 although the best way to deicide is to give both versions a try and see which you prefer.

You can test drive Event Espresso 4 here and/or test drive Event Espresso 3 here

Both of those links will provide you with a working test site to create events and see which suits you better.

Again – sorry if this appears trivial. I am looking for some advice to get us started.

There are no trivial questions 🙂 If you do have any further questions just let me know.
