For almost two weeks now, EE3 will randomly not send out registration emails to the admin, or confirmation emails to the registered individual. It will also randomly not send proper data over to PayPal for checkout and PayPal will give an error stating that your cart is empty.
No plugins have been added or removed from the site in the time this arose. An email log plugin was added after to see if emails were failing. I’m also able to verify the only failed emails from the account are when the recipient puts in a wrong email – this has only happened with the contact form. All other emails on the site work – contact forms, login notices, etc.
So far, I’ve deactivated and reactivated the plugin, and then deleted it and reinstalled it. Neither seem to fix the issue and am looking for help to get this resolved. The site and plugins are all up to date. Thanks for your time.
Usually when we get a report like this it’s because there’s some server side caching going on. Can you check with your host to see if there’s any server side caching set up, and if there is, can they disable caching for the page that handles the registration form and the checkout before sends the customer over to PayPal?
Thank you for the quick response! Currently there is no server side caching and I checked with the installed site plugins and only Wordfence offered caching, but it is disabled.
If it’s not caching, the random issues you’re seeing may be unique to a specific browser. One way to narrow down the root cause is you ask anyone that reports the issue to send the details from their browser that they can get from http://supportdetails.com.
