EE has suddenly stopped sending any emails – to customer or admin. WP sends all other emails fine – password reset, tests from WP-Mail-SMTP (using wp_mail) and Check Email, Backupbuddy notifications, etc.
When I check EE > Messages, I see “No recipient” and the “From” is empty in emails after 2nd December. There is also no “Context” for these (previously there was a context).
When I go to default messages, “Send a test email to” DOES work!
Can you go in to the Message templates and make sure that the TO and FROM fields use shortcodes like [CO_EMAIL] and not [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]? Those shortcodes that use formatted email addresses do not work on some servers that while running WordPress 4.7.
I’ve tried that, but unfortunately it doesn’t change anything. I’m seeing the orders successfully in admin, but email log still shows ‘no recipient’ and empty ‘From’ and ‘Context’ fields.
I changed the ‘from’ fields and added it to the ‘to’ field – some were empty.
Changing the settings to ‘Send messages on Same request?’ seems to have worked though, as the test I just tried worked.
Everything worked to early December, so I can only imagine an update somewhere along the line broke things! Thanks for your help Josh! I’ll keep my eye on things and see if it continues to work…
Best wishes
Andy
