Hi,
We offer weekly art classes (classes meet once a week, for 8 weeks). A few of the classes have two options for meeting time (i.e. Beginning Art is offered on tuesdays at 4pm for 8 weeks, or wednesdays at 5:15pm, or thursdays at 6:30pm). I would like to allow registrations for each session within the one class description. Is there a way for the registration thank you email to only display the dates for the session that the student is enrolled for? Currently it displays ALL the class times and dates.

I would like suggestions on the best way to set up registrations for students who (mostly) are minors: I would like recommendations on how parents can register more than one child for classes (i.e., should the system required first name, last name, and email be the Parent email, or the student email?

I have categories for each day of the week. The category labels are displaying alphabetically (i.e. Thursdays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays). I named the slugs 01tuesdays, 02wednesdays, 03thursdays. Can you provide code to sort the category based on slug, not alphabetically, pls?

Thanks so much for your assistance.

Hi,

I’ll follow up with each of your questions below:

We offer weekly art classes (classes meet once a week, for 8 weeks). A few of the classes have two options for meeting time (i.e. Beginning Art is offered on tuesdays at 4pm for 8 weeks, or wednesdays at 5:15pm, or thursdays at 6:30pm). Is there a way for the registration thank you email to only display the dates for the session that the student is enrolled for? Currently it displays ALL the class times and dates.

It sounds like they’re enrolling for all the class times and dates, if all of those are included in the email. May I ask are there separate tickets that are connected exclusively to specific datetimes? It may help if you can post a link to the event in question.

I would like suggestions on the best way to set up registrations for students who (mostly) are minors: I would like recommendations on how parents can register more than one child for classes (i.e., should the system required first name, last name, and email be the Parent email, or the student email?

Normally what most people do is capture the student name with the system required first name and last name. Then, they capture the parent email with the system required email address question. The system required questions can be edited to specify this on the registration form.

Is this in regards to the calendar or somewhere else where categories are listed?

Hi Josh,

Thank you for the info on parent/child. I did as you suggested. I am hoping you can also help with including shortcodes for custom questions in the email messages: specifically revising the template to address the parent, not the child. I created custom question for parent/guardian as you suggested but am unclear about how to incorporate them in the message.

Our site is not live yet, but I removed the redirect so you can look at the plugin in action. Shall I send the link in this forum? I can’t find the area on this help site where I can allow you access to our site, but I am happy to do that if it helps.

With regard to categories, we are all set. I hid them on the event listing and will use categories only to filter the table results.

Thanks again,
Lorell

The shortcode you can use to incorporate parent/guardian information in the message is:

[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*]

How that works is you add the question text after the *, then place the shortcode where you want to display the answer to that question.

Some examples are:
[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*Parent/Guardian Email Address]

[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*Parent/Guardian Name]
or

[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*Parent/Guardian First Name]
[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*Parent/Guardian Last Name]
