Hello,
I’m trying the edit the Email Registration Approved Template. Could you let me know how I can:

1. Add some questions and answers? I don’t know where and how I can add the Q&A like you have in the preview:

Questions & Answers
Question: What is your favorite planet?
Answer: Tattoine
etc

2. How can I remove the Twitter and Google+ buttons from the email? I would like to have only the Facebook button there.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

By default the template should have the following in the [QUESTION_LIST] section

<li><strong>Question:</strong> [QUESTION]</li>
<li><strong>Answer: </strong>[ANSWER]</li>

That will list out all the questions and answers.

If that’s not sufficient you can use the [RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*] shortcode. For example if your question is: How old are you? you would use [RECIPIENT_ANSWER_How old are you?] to display the answer to that specific question.

2) In the Main Content section, click the TEXT tab to go to the code view and find the following and delete them:

<a class="soc-btn tw" href="[CO_TWITTER_URL]">Twitter</a>
<a class="soc-btn gp" href="[CO_GOOGLE_URL]">Google+</a></td>

Hello,
1) Yes, I already found the [QUESTION_LIST] section. I just don’t know where I can put the questions and answers exactly. Should I put it like this?

  • Question: [QUESTION_How old are you?]
  • Answer: [ANSWER_Can’t tell]
  • Question: [QUESTION_Whats your name?]
  • Answer: [ANSWER_Oguzhan]
  • 2) ok that worked, thanks 🙂

No, Event Espresso will loop over each question and use that field for the output.

    So the default:

    <li><strong>Question:</strong> [QUESTION]</li>
    <li><strong>Answer: </strong>[ANSWER]</li>

Goes through each question assigned to the registration and outputs them in a list, with the labels wrapped in strong tags.

What is it that you are trying to achieve?

What I would like to achieve is to have Q&A in that section of the email, like “What’s the address”, “What do I have to bring with me” for the recipient.

Are those questions and answers assigned as part of the registration process?

Or are this intended to be completely separate questions from within the email only?

I would like to send these Q&A as part of the confirmation email, after somebody purchases the ticket.

So these questions are not being asked as part of the registration process?

I’m just trying to be completely clear on what you want to do before giving the wrong advice.

sure, thank you for clarifying. Indeed, they are not asked. These are just the questions I know I will get once they buy the tickets to the trainings. I would like to answer them in advance.

Hi, you could manually add these questions to the registration approved template but how would you record these in Event Espresso?

Were you planning on creating these as admin-only questions and then recording these answers when a registrant/attendee replies to the registration approved (registration details) email?

    Hi Lorenzo,
what do you mean by “record these in Event Espresso”? it’s just a FAQ in the email, I don’t need answers from the recipients for these questions.

Okay, that information sounds like help text (static messaging) since no shortcodes will be used.

You can add it anywhere that you would like in the Registration Approved message type for the primary registrant.

The location depends on which section it is added to.

yes, so back to my original question, how exactly can I add it to the “Questions and Answers” section of the standard template of Registration Approved message?

Sure, go to WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Messages –> Registration Approved.

Locate the Primary registrant and click on that recipient for the registration approved message type.

Scroll towards the end of the page and look for the question list area.

Add your text and then save changes.

So I just add plain text there?
    Right now, I have:

  • Question: [QUESTION]
  • Answer: [ANSWER]
  • I should add Q&A like this?

  • Question: [QUESTION]
  • Answer: [ANSWER]
  • When will I get full details for the course?
You will receive full details 5 days before the course.

or should I just replace the [QUESTION] with a question and [ANSWER] with an answer in plain text?

    Hi,

The Question and Answer shortcodes show the content for your registration form. I would not remove that information. Try something like this:

    Question: [QUESTION]
    Answer: [ANSWER]

    Frequently Asked Questions
When will I get full details for the course?
You will receive full details 5 days before the course.
