Hey guys,

Is there any way to edit the registration information information such as the name/email and custom fields on the registration form after the registration has taken place.

Can this be done by admin?
Cheers

Hi there,

As an admin you can edit the registration questions by viewing the registration itself.

Go to Event Espresso -> Registrations.

Find the registration in question and click on the name to edit.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll have this section – http://take.ms/3CaDz7

If you click the ‘edit the above question group’ link to enable the questions and allow you to edit them.

Changing the names of registrations can be a little more complicated as it depends on multiple different factors. Registrations are links to EE Contacts and you can have multiple registrations linked to the same contact which means if you change the contact you change the name etc displayed on all of the registrations linked to it.

Is this a single registration or a group?

Has the same user registered previously?

You may be better re-creating the registration and copying the details into the fields (obviously with the correct name and email this time) to prevent any issues.

That’s super helpful thank you!

I see what you mean about the registration name. This is more about attendee names. See they can add multiple tickets at one time then they have the option to “Use Attendee #1’s information for ALL attendees ”

Ideally we would be able to then update those names after the registration is processed as we often don’t have the names at time of registration. Does that make sense?

It does make sense yes.

Do you collect the ‘Personal Information’ question group for additional registrants or are you collecting the ‘attendee name’ on custom questions?

Can you link me to an event so I can view the setup?

Hey there,

I’m using the personal information question group for everything as it seems I can only “Use Attendee #1’s information for ALL attendees ” for that question group. It won’t copy information from a second question group to the other attendees. (is that right?)

The link is: https://fishability.org.au/events-calendar/

To clarify, the scenario is that often a co-ordinator will register several tickets (sometimes 20) at a time and use their details as they will not have all the info.
After this has been done, admins will go in later and fill in those details as the names and info of the attendees become clear.
Ideally we need an easy way of doing that.
I hope I’m explaining that well.
🙂

No, that’s not correct, if the additional registrations have the same question group as the primary it should copy the details for all.

Looks like I can’t test a registration as your events require login, is there any event not set to require login?

Ok, if you are using the Personal info group then all of the registrations will all be assigned to the primary registrant’s contact but EE should allow you to break the connection.

Go to any registration other than the primary registration.

In the contact section, you should see a ‘Create contact’ button – http://take.ms/wZe3R

Clicking that will create a new contact and assign it to the registration and edit the new contact, note that when it does that it duplicates the current contact, so it will look like you are editing the original but it’s a new one.

Correct the contact details and save. Now confirm that only that single registrations contact details changed.

How did you get on with the above?

There is a setting within the event to set if login is required, here – http://take.ms/FbkVu

However, I used the details you sent and had a look at your set up and there should be nothing preventing your from adding those additional questions to a different question group if you prefer, the only requirement is that the same question group is selected on both the Primary Registrant and Additional (for example, the wheelchair question in can’t be in one question group asked for the primary registrant and then in another question group for the additional, even though it’s the same question).

You can keep the current setup if you prefer it, but you should be able to switch to separate question groups if you prefer.
