Hello, I am interested in the plugin, but I need to know if there is a way for a single registration form to allow a user to add multiple attendees to an event registration. The scenario is this… An organization is offering a 3 day seminar. One company needs to be able to register several employees at once. For each employee, the person registering needs to be able to select which events each employee will attend. Please contact me and let me know if this is possible by default or if it would require custom development. Thanks, Josh |
Hi Josh, We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso. Yes, this is possible. When creating the event, you’d just need to allow group registrations. You can also set group maximums. Does this answer your question? Let us know if you have more. |

It does. And that looks easier than I expected. Since I first posted my question, my client has sent a complete wishlist that looks pretty complicated. Is this something I could send to you and maybe discuss it with you over the phone? I’m afraid it’s going to require some custom development. |
Hi Josh, You can send us the list if you want, but we don’t have developer availability for custom projects until later in 2013. If it’s something our support staff can do, then we might be able to help. Just an FYI. |

Here’s what was in the document. Please advise… • Once you log in, or register for a class, it should remember your personal info. • Upload the Training and Development Manual with links to register for the classes. • Need a Resource page with links to manuals, file share, videos, powerpoints, etc. |
Possible with WP User Integration.
Possible with WP User Integration and the My Events shortcode.
Not possible (yet) but will be with a new Certificats add-on we’ve been working on. (Similar to the Ticketing add-on.)
Possible with PayPal, another (I’m assuming on-site) payment gateway we offer, and Invoice.
Existing functionality.
Also existing functionality (calendar and category-based event lists. Can also do a category-based calendar.)
Files can be uploaded in the media uploader and a link to the file can be displayed in a post/page/event. Unless I’m misunderstanding something here…
Existing functionality
Not really an Event Espresso thing. This can be done on any WordPress page.
Can be done by emailing all attendees (via Event Espresso) or with the MailChimp Integration add-on (via MailChimp). |

Ok. Thanks for your help. Most important on this list is the WP user integration. I currently have access to the premium demo, but I do not see anything related to WP user intergration. Am I missing that piece? I am considering making the purchase, but I’m afriad I will be wasting my money if it doesn’t do what I need. Is there any way that I can download the premium version and do a complete install for testing and then pay for it if we decide to go live? Also, if I do purchase, should I not upgrade to WP 3.5? If so, how long do you expect it to take before all the kinks are worked out with the latest upgrade? Thank you! Josh |
Hi Josh, I’m sorry for the delay in replying, somehow this topic unintentionally slipped through the cracks. The test drive site does not have the WP user integration add-on active at this time, but we can set up a demo elsewhere if need be. With WP 3.5, the current version of Event Espresso has been tested to work with 3.5. Any kinks in the current version aren’t related to the changes in WP 3.5. If you’d like to test out the pre-release channel, you can go to your account page and opt in there. A lot of the kinks in the current version of Event Espresso have been fixed in 3.1.30. You can get more information about the pre-release channel here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/announcing-the-pre-release-channel/ |

Thanks! I’ve already purchased the premium version. One major customization we are trying to make is… Whenever a person registers additional attendees, we want those new attendees to be automatically registered in WordPress as subscribers. That way they will now be able to login and see their events. Do you have any direction or thoughts on that? Also, As it is now, the additional attendees DO receive a confirmation email and a link to edit their registration, but they do not have to log in to do so. Does that not seem like a security breach? Is there any way to require them to be logged in to edit their registration? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give! Josh |
Hi Josh, We don’t have a feature that automatically registers new attendees as new users of the site. There is an option in the WP user integration add-on that lets you make it a requirement to create an account and/or log in before registering for an event. If you have the WP user integration add-on installed, you can go to Event Espresso>Member settings and set “Require log in for all events?” to yes.
Yes, there is. You can change the main registration page as set in Event Espresso>General Settings to be a private page or require a password. This will also have the effect of preventing from registering for an event without being logged in first. As an aside, if you wanted to show non-logged in users the event list while the main registration page is set to private, you can create a publicly viewable page and add the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode to this new page. |
