My partner and I have started to contribute to the Dutch translation of EE. I’ve done a first session in Glotpress. I notice a few things:
1) it seems there is (slightly) more translated than what I see on our site. So perhaps our language files are not fully up-to-date
2) I can’t find the entries of the event table add-on, for instance the name of the months
Furthermore, do you have a suggestion how to work with two persons on the project without the risk of doing double of conflicting work? Ideally, online would work best but only with a high synchronizing speed. The alternative would be alternatig offline and daily exchange of language files. But that does not sound very appealing. Any suggestion?
For now, could you process our updates so far, so that we can have clean start from this point?

Hi Joost,
We appreciate your help with translating Event Espresso 4 into Dutch.
The language file is a compilation of all of the software available for Event Espresso 4 so messaging such as the Multiple event registration have text strings in the language file.
I’ve updated your user so you will be able to submit translations and they will automatically be approved as you are now a validator.
Using this link will pull up a random set of strings for translation:

Thanks Lorenzo for the quick reply. I checked and it works fine this way. I guess it works best if I ask my partner to create his own account. Then, I can approve his contributions.
Remains one of my earlier questions. I cannot find entries of the event table add-on, for instance the name of the months. Perhaps this holds for more add-ons but did not check yet. Perhaps these are hard-coded??
Another question: Is there a way to filter terms for a specific EE function or add-on, for instance searching for a string in the reference?

There isn’t a way to filter by add-on at this time. Could you provide a screenshot of the month name that is not appearing correctly?

I noticed the English month names at two locations (but perhaps there are more):

Hi Joost,
Are you moving an updated version of the MO file from GlotPress over to your site periodically and then renaming the file to the correct name?
Your site will not automatically overwrite its existing language file in this location:
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/

Yes I do. I see all the translations that we made correctly. My issue is different: the search function in Glotpress does not reveal any name of the month. So, I cannot translate them.

The dates are not hardcoded, they are output using date_i18n() which localizes the output for you, however that’s a relatively new change to the code, so if you are using custom templates they may need to be updated.
Are you using a custom template for the events table?
I’m checking into the payment date now to confirm what that should display.

I checked and I’m almost done. However, I can’t get my head around one detail. I want to list the venue city iso its name. I did that in the old version but that syntax does not work in the new version. It’s about this line (line 111 in espresso-events-table-template.template.php)
<td class=”venue_name event-<?php echo $post->ID; ?>”><?php espresso_venue_name( NULL, FALSE ); ?></td>
espresso_venue_city() seems not to be defined. What should I use instead?

Hi Joost, I’m not sure I understand your new question clearly (specifically the iso part) but I believe you are trying to show the city for a venue in the Events table view template and we do have an example here:
