Since a few weeks ago we started having issues with EE triggering duplicate notifications for registrations that include payment. We use Chase Orbital Gateway to process payments.
This only happens when they pay using Chase. If they register using the “invoice” method, the notifications are not duplicated.
We have a hook implementation using this function hook in WP:
‘AHEE__EE_Registration_Processor__trigger_registration_update_notifications’
We disabled the EE notifications so we can create our own emails. I added some logging to our emailing function to prove that it gets called twice by EE. Usually, it gets called about 50 minutes later after the registration occurs.
I have seen some historic support issues of other people experiencing this problem (back from 2015, 2016 and 2020). However, I have not been able to see how this was resolved. I think one of them mentioned that it was resolved in version 4.8.15.p, but we are running version 4.10.10.p
We also have the plugin Payment Methods Pro. But we had it running without problems until recently.
