been doing a lot of espresso config and updating. the new version is great; however, somehow i got an old event espresso in my plug-in folder along with my new active one.
i am scared to delete the plugin because it might delete all my existing files. So i want to check in to see what’s the best way to remove the old version plugin?

Do you mean templates or core modifications to Event Espresso itself or the events etc you have created using Event Espresso?
All events etc are stored within the database and will NOT be lost by deleting the plugin.
However…. it is always advisable to backup your site before updating ANY plugins/themes. This includes both the website files and the database. This is often ignored/unknown but creating backups before any updates can sometimes be the only lifeline you have if/when things go wrong.
We have a guide posted on how to backup you site here:
In regard to modifications of Event Espresso files, it depends on how and what has been modified. If core has been modified then yes these will be lost when EE is updated. If templates have been modified then copied to uploads/espresso/templates/ these will remain.
old version deleted. everything works fine. thank you!
