Hello, Our site is consistently dropping the connection to most event espresso related items on the site. The site itself will load, but when trying to view an event from the front end or backend, the page will not load. The response from Chrome is “No data received,” Firefox says “Description: Server Hangup,” and Safari says “the server unexpectedly dropped the connection.” Here is an example: http://www.thewarrengroupevents.com/blog/events/banking-ny-conference-2015/. This is only for event espresso items on the site, and all other aspects are loading fine. Can you please offer any insight into this? Thank you! |
Hi John, What kind of hosting are you using and which hosting company are you using? |
|
|
Hello, We are using Rackspace Cloud shared hosting. |
Hi, I’m having trouble reaching those pages as well. It appears to be loading for an extended period of time when I try to reach the single event page or the event listing page. Could you temporarily enable WordPress debugging and let us know if anything appears in the debug.log that is related to Event Espresso? https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/848801a1173be464fbe7 /wp-content/debug.log Also, if you have recently added any new plugins, then I would also try briefly testing with only Event Espresso running. — |

Hello, Thank you for your response! Below, please find the contents of the debug.log: [02-Mar-2015 21:57:26 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined index: promo in /mnt/stor7-wc2-dfw1/531663/661851/www.thewarrengroupevents.com/web/content/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/modules/ticket_selector/templates/ticket_selector_chart.template.php on line 14 |
Hi, thanks for posting. I’m not seeing any errors there. Do you see the same issue when only Event Espresso 4 is running? Also, is this the latest release of Event Espresso 4? — |

Hello, I tried deactivating all other plugins, and it does not seem to make a difference. We are using Event Espresso 4.4.4p. I put all expired events into the trash folder, and am now able to view an event in Chrome, but it is going very slow and still timing out in Safari. Do you have any suggestions on optimizing the speed and size of the data so that it can make it through the browser? Thank you. |
Hi, the single event page still doesn’t load and I’m using Safari. Is there something preventing you from upgrading to the latest software? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ Also, when did you first discover this slow loading for the pages? — |

Hello, We are hesitant to upgrade to the latest software at the moment because we have some customizations that need to be reconnected upon update, and the last update we performed the regular event pages got distorted. Is there anything in the latest update that may help speed and site load performance that we would want to try out? We first noticed this on Monday. We had Rackspace run tests and they were able to narrow in on the issue being that the queries being run in the Event Espresso pages were timing out. Here is the example of the query they ran: SELECT Registration.REG_ID AS ‘Registration.REG_ID’, Registration.EVT_ID AS ‘Registration.EVT_ID’, Registration.ATT_ID AS ‘Registration.ATT_ID’, Obviously, it is not ideal to delete out data, so any suggestions you have to optimize page load will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |
