Hi,

Everytime I am trying to download a transaction invoice from my admin panel, I am getting the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 84 bytes) in /home/tickethungama/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/third_party_libs/dompdf/include/style.cls.php on line 729

Can someone please help explain this to me and suggest a solution?

You can correct this issue by deactivating any plugins that are not needed on your site. Then raise the memory available to PHP through your wp-config.php file:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M' );

See this page for more information:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

Hi,

While trying to open the PDF, I am getting the following error:

An error has occurred:
No transaction information could be retrieved because the registration URL link is missing or invalid.
EES_Espresso_Thank_You – run – 188

Hi,

Are you on the latest software (not the beta prerelease)?

This support post shows that message could appear on the older software.

https://eventespresso.com/topic/ees_espresso_thank_you-run-183-error/

If you are not sure, then please backup your WordPress.

Then download new copies of your software from your Event Espresso account. Then remove the existing versions through WP Plugins. From here, upload and activate your plugins.

Hey Lorenzo,

I have the current version. Here’s what it reads at the bottom:

Event Registration and Ticketing Powered by Event Espresso – 4.3.0.p

Do I still need to update?

Hi,

That’s the latest version so it should be fine.

Is the error occurring on every transaction, including newer ones?

Yes, every time someone tries opening the PDF invoice – from the front end, as well as from the admin panel.

Since our site is live and transactions are taking place, I would really appreciate if you can look into this urgently. I am getting complaints that people are unable to download their order confirmation after purchasing tickets.

Hi sampurn,

Can you temporarily enable the Invoice Payment Gateway (Event Espresso -> Payment Methods) so I can run a registration and test the Invoices without running through a live payment?

Hi,

I have initiated the Invoice Payment Gateway. Please let me know if this works?

Hi sampurn,

I ran through a test registration, selecting invoice as a payment method.

This then allows us to test the Receipt/Invoice functionality.

I can view the Receipt but when I try to download the Invoice the following error is thrown:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 825270 bytes) in /event-espresso-core-reg/core/third_party_libs/dompdf/lib/class.pdf.php on line 1600

This means your server is using all of the Memory allocated to it. Did you perform the steps Lorenzo pointed out here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/download-transaction-invoice-error/#post-110661

If so, your host may not allow your site to use more than 64MB of RAM so you may need to contact them to have this limit increased.

Hi,

I did perform the step as suggested by Lorenzo. Now I am not getting the error message but now the invoices are just not loading. It shows a progress bar and it never opens.

Can you please check it for me?

Now I am getting another error:

File does not begin with ‘%PDF-‘

Any idea what might cause this?

Hi,

I’m now not seeing any issues when download the invoices, can you tell me which browser are you using?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Does the site have any caching plugins running or possibly the host running caching on the server? I can see the scripts are being minified which may also cause issues with EE, you could try disabling whichever plugin is doing so and see if that helps.

Hey Tony,

I did disable the caching plugin and also purged thank you page from caching. But still I can not download the PDF receipt – either from the front end trying to register, or backend as admin. What is strange is the fact that the mock registration that you did, is opening just fine.

I tried this on Chrome, Safari and Firefox all with same result. Customers click on Download PDF but it doesn’t download. Same at the admin panel.

At times, I am randomly getting this error:

File does not begin with ‘%PDF-’

Ok, another interesting observation – every time there is an invoice payment and the payment is pending, I am able to download the PDF just fine. Only when someone actually makes the payment is when we are finding ourselves unable to download the PDF.

Hi,

Are you running an older version of Adobe Acrobat?

I further narrowed down to the problem and found out that only those invoices where payment has been $ 0, is giving error while downloading the PDF. Everywhere else, including PayPal, Credit Card of Invoice payments are downloading fine.

Hope this helps.

Hey Lorenzo, the issue can not be because of the version of Adobe Acrobat because all the ‘paid for’ event receipts are opening without any problem. Only those events which have $0 as payment are giving the error.

Hi,

I’m having some trouble duplicating that issue on the current software @ 4.3.1.

I have a batch of old and new registrations that are free that are opening and they download as PDF files.

Could you share a temporary login through the link below:
