Does Event Espresso 4 (EE4) uses custom post type? If they use why not they using wordpress default post-new.php post creation page for event creation? Can I get a trial version of Event Espresso 4, so that I can try it in my local and then purchase it later if it matches all my needs.
We do not use the default WP routes (so new-posts.php for example) but do use the default file that is loaded on that page. There are multiple reasons for us doing this but basically it is to allow us to group all of our pages together in the menu. The Events we create a much more complex than a standard CPT.
We do not have a version of EE4 that you can install locally to test, although we do have EE4 Test Drive which will give you access to the admin to create events etc and see how EE4 works and looks both from the admin and the front-end.
