We need to migrate our site to a new domain due to a merger. We will be moving all data from the current domain to a new one in the next few days. Until the end of the month the new domain will be password protected so the public cannot access it, but we will need to add new data and ensure everything is working OK. A couple of questions:
1) Can we temporarily have two keys active so we can be sure that the new domain is working properly before the old one becomes redundant at the end of the month?
2) Is it correct that PayPal details will have to be changed to the new domain too? (I have not looked into this yet)

It turns out you do not need an additional license to do this 🙂
Event Espresso will work as expected (without auto-updates) with no license key inserted. So you can set-up your new site, and work with EE4 whilst setting up, then once ready request a license key reset and add your license key to the new site.
Once you then add the support license to your new site you can continue as normal.
Does that make sense?

Have you manually set Paypal’s return address to your current site? Event Epsresso sends the return address with each transaction which should be used to return the user. However if you use Paypal for other areas of your site other than EE and have explicity set these URL’s within Paypal, these may need updating.
