The reason I ask is because we need to accept Euro payment and the Popup in the Stripe setting states:

Stripe uses 3-character ISO-4217 codes for specifying currencies in fields and variables. If you are taking purchases in US Dollars, enter usd here. Stripe currently only takes payment in USD, but can accept payments from any currency which will be converted to USD at checkout.

If you can clarify that would be great.

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Where is your Stripe account set up? If it is in the US, then you will need to use USD. However, customers can pay in EUR and Stripe will convert it.

If your account is UK based use GBP, Finland based use EUR, etc. It all depends on where your account is based.

Again, customers can pay in their own currency and Stripe will convert it.

Hi Dean,

It will be a new Stripe account set up in Ireland. So if I read your comment right, as long as they select Euro as the default currency, I can use Euro on checkout?

Right, Robert.

You need to make sure your Stripe account is expecting the Euro values. Then in Event Espresso you can set your Organization Country to Ireland and use the Euro currency.
