Previous to installing and using Event Espresso, we had installed WP-reCAPTCHA to discourage bot sign-ups on our web site. I didn’t think much about this plugin until I signed into the site yesterday and saw a message that the Captcha required the key to be re-entered. I did not understand how it got removed; but, I went in and reentered it. It appears , however, that this action conflicted with Event Espresso’s plugin because a new event posted to our site today garnered new registrants immediately, who could not register. The only site change we could identify was this re-entering of the WPreCaptcha key. So I have deactivated that plugin and it seems to have resolved the EE registration issue. The only thing I am concerned about now is what will be keeping bots out of our entire WP site — not just EE event registration. Your thoughts?
