Hi, I want to deliver documents to attendees after the event via email. What is the best way to do this? I will be running multiple events and the documents will be different each time (and in pdf format). In a perfect world, I would like the documents to auto-associate with the event so I can send a batch email to all attendees of that event.
In your other thread you mentioned you wanted to use the batch email message type for this, but you can’t pull event information from within the batch email, so you would need to manually add the links within the emails each time.
The way I would do this is to create a custom ‘Registration Approved’ message template, customize all of the content in that custom message template to be an ‘after the event’ type of email and then force EE to resend the registration approved messages for the attendees, only this time you tell it to use the custom Reg Approved template you created.
You can then use event based shortcodes and set a custom value on the event that contains the link to your documents and call those values within the emails using the EVENT_META_* shortcode.
Its not as ‘slick’ as just sending a batch email type as it requires a little prep work on your behalf each time, but I can provide more details on how to do the above if it sounds like it will work for you?
