Hi there,
I have lots of problemsn with the Full Order Confirmation Receipt (PDF). It would be the easiest way to just not show it (for now). How can I get rid of it? Thanks.

Here are some problems, I struggle with:
– 2 warnings about concerning my logo (Warning: getimagesize(http://example.com/logo.png): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found)
– I do now want to see informations about taxes, discounts etc. How can I adjust the PDF at all?
– some translation errors

As I said – for now its fine with me to just not show the PDF at all. There a the confirmation emails anyway.

thanks!

Hi,

This error:

โ€“ 2 warnings about concerning my logo (Warning: getimagesize(http://example.com/logo.png): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found)

Means allow_url_fopen is disabled on your server. This is used within the DOMPDF library that Event Espresso uses to generate the PDF’s (so both Receipts and Invoices)

I would recommend contacting your hosting company to have them enabled fopen on your site.

โ€“ I do now want to see informations about taxes, discounts etc. How can I adjust the PDF at all?
โ€“ some translation errors

The PDF’s are edited through the Messages system, if you go to Event Espresso -> Messages. You’ll find both the Receipt and Invoice message type there – http://take.ms/gh9Ps

Clicking on either of those two links will allows you to edit both of those.

You can completely disable the Receipt by going to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings.

Click the PDF messages.

Then drag the Receipt Message type to “Inactive messengers” – http://take.ms/TeOtz

Does that work for what you need?

I just noticed that at the end of my registration process it says

Payment Overview
No payments towards this transaction have been received.
View Invoice

I want to get rid of “view invoice” because I do not want to create invoices at all through EE!

If I go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings -> HTML and drag “invoive” to โ€œInactive messengersโ€, too (as I did with receipt) than I can’t go through the registration process as the system says I have to chose a payment method but I can’t select any one.

Hope this was understandable ๐Ÿ™‚

cheers

So you want the user to select invoice within EE, but EE not to generate an invoice at all, is that correct?

Do you not have any other payment methods active?

EE needs a payment method to finalize the registration so we will need either an offline payment method active (such as invoice) or an online payment method to take full payment (such as Stripe)

I’m just checking exactly how you want this to work so we can provide the best way to do so.

Hi Tony,
my customer wants it like this:

When you subscribe to an event (in fact it is a seminar) you have to leave your bank account details and my customer will get the money directly from the bank. I do not know if this is common in the US but here in Germany it is not unusual.
So basically there is no payment method at all, because you do not have to do anything as my customer gets his money on his own. I chose “invoice” because it seems to me that this one is the closest to what I want to have.

Another thing is the “invoice pdf” itself. My customer already prints invoices within another system so there is no need for there invoices (they will cause more trouble instead).

A perfect solution for me would look like this:

– Get bank details in the reg form (already done that)
– get email with reg infos
– done ๐Ÿ™‚

I can achive above when I set the price to 0. As soon as the price is eg 1.000,- the “payment method” screen pops up (I don’t need that) and I can see and download an invoice (I dont’t want that either).

phew – hope that makes my point a bit clearer ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks in advance! gread support staff!

Currently any event using a ticket with a price attached to it must have a payment method to Finalize the registration.

Would the ‘Bank Draft’ payment method work in this example?

The user inputs the details within the registration form, selects bank draft as there payment method (you can alter the instructions for that payment method to suit) and Finalizes the registration.

By default the thank you page would then look like this – http://take.ms/Pqvvq

As mentioned those instructions can all be changed through Event Espresso -> payment Methods -> Bank Draft.

That way the registration can be finalized but you can also disable the Invoice selection too.

Would that work?

ah okay, I think I missed that. Looks good, thanks!

Still two more questions ๐Ÿ™‚

FIRST
Just before the payment screen there is a popup “Please select a method of payment and provide any necessary billing information before proceeding.” I can alter (translate) the text but can I get rid of it at all (since there is no selection available)?

SECOND (and more important)
Somehow I disabled the email settings ๐Ÿ™ No neither me or the registered person gets an email after the registration.

This is how it looks under “messages”
https://www.dropbox.com/s/df5fpc9xs5xstfn/message.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/19vouz9y4tfl9kq/message-settings.png?dl=0

Anything wrong?

All messengers apart from Invoice and Registration Approved have been disabled.

What is the default registration status for the event? Pending Payment or Approved?

(You can chec this by editing the event and looking within the ‘Event Registration Options’ – http://take.ms/ERwkq)

A paid registration that uses Invoice/Bank Draft will be ‘Pending Payment’ when they finalize the registration because they have monies owing.

If you re-enable the ‘Registration Pending Payment’ message type you should receive emails once again when someone makes a registration.
