Hi!
I saw some posts somewhat like this for EE3, but may have missed something on this issue.

I just purchased and installed EE4 and the Event Calendar plugin. When viewing the calendar, if an event is sold out, it disappears from the calendar. It still displays in the list with a nice “Sold Out” message, but I need it to display in the calendar, also with “Sold Out”. Is this not yet an option?

Thanks!

Hi,

Can you tell me the shortcode you are using for your Calendar page please?

By default the Calendar should display sold out events – http://take.ms/jg0oM

Yes – thank you. I purchased the EE4 Calendar add-on, and this is the shortcode given: [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR show_expired=”true”].

I have a test event for July 4th which is sold out – it disappeared from the calendar as well as the Upcoming Events calendar widget at the bottom of the site.

Thanks!

We’ve been investigating this and believe we have found the cause.

Could you please go to Dashboard -> Event Espresso -> Events.

Edit the ‘Sold Out’ event in question. Change nothing and just click Update.

Then go back to the Calendar and refresh the page. Is the event now visible within the Calendar?

To explain a little, this appears to be caused by Event Espresso’s auto Sold Out status.

When your event sales reach the datetime limit, Event Espresso automatically sets the status to Sold Out, at this point the events are removed from the calendar. If you then update the event the Sold Out status then actually becomes ‘user defined’, so not automatic any longer, at this point the events are visible on the calendar once again.

I have created a ticket for the developers to investigate this issue. For the time being if you wish for Sold Out events to be visible on the Calendar just update the events while they are Sold Out to ensure the status is not no longer automatic.

Hello,

I saw this support post while researching something else and I wanted to post an update here.

The current version of Event Espresso 4 along with the Events Calendar will continue to show sold out events instead of unpublishing them.

Thanks

Lorenzo
