Hi,

I need to set up this on my web page, which offers sailing tours, so people can book a room. In total there is three double bed rooms (so 6 people maximum at the same time). But you still can book a room for one person.

What I need to do is :
1. people enter the number of people
2. price display in function of this number.

Is it possible to do this or not at all?
Much thanks for you time and help

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Can you explain this a little more please? In either version of Event Espresso the person registering will need to enter the number of people (tickets). Or is what you are referring to separate from the actual event tickets?

Hi Dean,

alright, here are more infos. The situation is this. We have three rooms with double bed. The price isn’t the same if you book one and use it alone (1 person) or if there is two people.

What I need to set is this :
First people display how many they are
Then the rooms quantity will automatically show the minimum of rooms they can book. After this the price will display, cause the price depends of the rooms number.

(small examples : three people want to book rooms. There is several solutions : 1x room with 2 people and 1x room with 1 person / 3x rooms with 1 person)

Does this help or not at all?
Much thanks for you time and help Dean

The use case you are describing is one that is challenging to map exactly to the current capabilities of EE. We have tried to make a general purpose tool, but we cannot foresee every possible use. It may be easier to fit your use case into the EE4 framework if you separate the charge for the room from the other charges. So you could set a limit of 6 people total on the datetime, and have a “room” ticket with a limit of 3 on it and a “other charges” ticket with a limit of 6. It may still require some custom coding to show the event as sold out when the “room” ticket is sold out.
Or, alternatively, you could set the limit on the datetime as 3, and sell two types of tickets, single berth and double berth, with the two different prices. I would put the information on the second person in a double berth as a question on the form, rather than trying to gather that information as an additional attendee within the standard EE framework.

Thank you for the updates and details.

Got a question now :

Would it be possible to set one ticket per room and an option for each room which influence the price?
Small example.
I select a room A. This price displays 100$. Then I get two options : 1 person or 2 people

If 1 person selected : price changes too 75$
If 2 people selected : price stays the same

Much thanks for your help!

Hi,

The image here is from Event Espresso 4:

Specifically, the image above is the ticket selector within Event Espresso 4.

If you are currently using Event Espresso 3, then please take a look at the price modifier add-on:

Hi,

thank you for your help and tips!

I’m currently using EE4. Would it be possible to do some price modifier with EE4?
Each room is one ticket and you have two drop down. The first one is the quantity and the second the number of people (option : 1 / 2). Then the price changes regarding the option selected.

Hi,

Options that are available for Event Espresso 4 are in the event editor under the advanced options for a ticket:
