I want to display the unique EE id for each event on the page displaying payment options. My goal is to apply custom CSS for each different event and I need a ID or unique class displayed to use as a CSS selector for the page.

That will add ‘event-id-XX’ to the registration-checkout page body classes for each event the registrations in your session are linked to – http://take.ms/UVMhE
You can add that to your child themes functions.php file or a Custom Functions Plugin.
