Hello. I am setting up my event list page but cannot seem to get the event description to output as I want it to. According to the settings if we have Event Description set as excerpt it will do as follow: I do not have any excerpt text but I do have a <!–more–> tag which will partially work. If I put the tag high up in the description it will stop at the tag, but if I put it lower then it stops working and just stops wherever it wants. I tried to do some research (I am not a php expert by any means) and found this function: function espresso_event_content_or_excerpt( $num_words = 55, $more = NULL, $echo = TRUE ) This appears to be stopping the description at 55 words as a hard stop but this is not what I am needing and the help section mentions nothing about the 55 word hard stop, only that it will output the excerpt or anything up the more tag. How can we have it do as the help desc states and output anything up to the more tag regardless of how many words there are? Thanks in advance. |

Also my html tags are getting stripped on the event list page but not in the single event page. How do I stop my tags from getting stripped? The tags that were included before my <!–more–> were <h3> and <p> so not sure why they would get stripped. |

Hi Maceo, Could you go to Event Espresso –> Events –> Template. Then adjust the display description settings to show the full description and save changes: http://cl.ly/image/2q0z1b3o1K23 — |

thanks, that works for both of my posts above, although the help topic is misleading, 🙂 |

Hi Maceo, could you share additional feedback? Is the information or the options available confusing? Thanks — |

That’s what I listed in my original post. The help topic states for the excerpt option: For the Full Description option the help topic states: So the misleading part is that based on help, you should use the excerpt option if you want to use the <!–more–> tag. The full description option help mentioning nothing about the <!–more–> tag usage to limit output. |

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll add a ticket to see if we can reword that help content to make it clearer. |
