Any idea when discount codes will be available in EE4? I need to be able to give away tickets easily and in EE3, the easiest way was discount codes. Any updates would be appreciated. |
Hi AJ, A couple questions: – Are you trying to give away *any* ticket or just a certain type of ticket? Discount codes are in progress. If you want to participate in some early testing, I can give you access via GitHub. |
Garth, -Any type. It was a function that we really miss from EE3. Ideally, I would use these discount codes to help our sponsors give away tickets. |
@AJ – I’d love to help test, if possible. We really need discount codes to work, hoping by 5/1. |
Garth, lets go ahead with the github access. |
@AJ Boldan and @mclanea What are your github usernames? |

Mine is: mclanecreative |
@mclanea you have been sent an invite to the Promotions private repo. See the read-me file. |

Got it, thanks. I’m dropping this into staging right now. If it’s stable, we’ll push it live. |
@garth Here’s the error when I activated it in staging – Where can I get 4.7+? |
Hi, it requires a specific version of the Event Espresso core plugin since there were a variety of changes needed to support the upcoming promotions add-on. Please try: FET-3456-promotions-spco branch — |
There are special instructions to use a branch of EE4 core: Once it is released, it will function with whatever the latest core version of Event Espresso is at that time. Did that help? |

@garth / @lorenzo orlando – Yes, it is working. I deactivated my current EE install and installed the one linked above. Here’s a screenshot. (Highlighted a suggested text change) The promo code works fine. I think I’d have to add some copy explaining that discount codes wouldn’t get added until the very last page, I can see my customers being confused by that. (Not a deal break, I’ll just need some explanatory copy) |
Yes, those will be cleaned up. If you discover any additional issues, just reply here and we’ll check into them. Thanks again! — |
@Lorenzo – Do you think this is stable enough to push into production? |
@mclanea Both the the promotions branch and the promotions add-on have not been fully tested. Thus, we can not recommend that it be used on a live site. If we were confident promotions was “production ready” we would have released an official version. If you use it on a live site, you do so at your own risk. |
@garth – Gotcha. Well, registration for this event opens on 5/1. So it’d be great if there were a production version of this I could buy by then. |
Hi mclanea, We understand the wait is tough. We are working hard on testing, but we can’t make any promises when it will be available. |
Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. |
