Considering the promo code add-on for EE4. Read the info at: https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-promotions/ and watched the screencast demo but one thing is unclear to me…
Once the add-on is installed, is it possible to disable it (so it turns off the “Submit Promo Code” field in the checkout process) during periods of time when I am not offering promo codes so as to not unnecessarily prompt people to go hunting for codes or contact us to get one? If this is not easily turned on and off, perhaps the field could be turned off with a display:none override in style sheet?

Hi Benjamin,
You can disable the Submit Promo Code field during periods of time when you’re not offering promo codes by simply deactivating the Promotions add-on from the WordPress plugins page.
