Differentiating category pages on the archive template?

Searched around but couldn’t really find the answer to this question that didn’t involve the add-on

Since the category page uses the same template as the listing page, is there a way via code in the archive template that I can check to see if the current page is a category page so that I can at least write some conditionals? Or if there’s just a way for me to create a separate template file just for these pages, that would be better. And can I pull content like the category title?

taxonomy-espresso_event_categories.php

Perfect, thanks! Didn’t see that one in the original theme so I thought it might not be possible. That worked
