We don’t actually make domains active. You could manually update the plugin there (download the zip file from your account page, and reinstall on your dev site’s wp plugins page)
The 1-click update could work on that site if you add the support key there, but if any other sites are also using the same key, you’ll need to request a key reset and remove the key from any other site that may be using it.
You’d ignore that warning in this case. The reason there’s a warning about not adding the key there is because it complicates things with all the resets and adding/removing keys. We generally advise to keep things simple and just manually update on dev sites if needed.
