As an admin when I view my events, I have to change how they sort every single time I enter the screen. It’s significantly time consuming. I can’t seem to figure out what sort order is the system default. However, I can tell you, as an event organizer running 30+ events a month, it doesn’t make sense to me.
Is there a way to set the default sort view? I guess I would like to see a few more options in the “default” tab of the product.
When you consider that I am in and out of my system all day long and everytime I complete an action the system returns to this page with it sorted back to your sort, it is taking up a considerable amount of my time to re-filter out past events, etc so I can see my upcoming events in a manageable way.
Since events are date based, why wouldn’t the default view be by the most recent events coming up? I have had experience with MANY other event systems and honestly EE is the ONLY one I’ve had not sort by the next most recent date.
Is there a way to set this that I am missing?

You can go to the default events overview screen, then paste
&active_status=upcoming
onto the end of the url, then bookmark it. It should pull up the default events page, but with only upcoming events. From what I can tell, the default sort is by event start date. Can you post some screenshots if you are seeing something different?

Hi,
Similar to WordPress posts and pages, it is shown in descending order by the ID of the post (event id). You can adjust the event overview screen to sort by Event Start and then filter by Upcoming.
Then bookmark this link to your web browsers favorites or bookmarks bar:

This link will set the order to use Event start:
example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_events&orderby=Datetime.DTT_EVT_start&order=desc
