Hi guys – I found info that says default for grid view is set to 10. I understand I can change to 20 or probably some other arbitrary #, the question is how would site visitors know this? Is there a pagination option I’m not seeing? I can see that a limit on mobile might be useful but again, something to explain to site visitors would be helpful. |
Hi Gail, The end user (or site visitor) does not change this setting, so any explanation to them would not be helpful. The site administrator (or you) is who changes the setting. So for example, if you only want 15 events to be shown on a page, you add You’ll find other parameters you might wish to use in the documentation: |

Sorry Josh – obviously did not explain myself fully. WE DONT WANT THE SITE VISITOR TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE ANYTHING. We want them to know and understand why they can only see 10, or some other arbitrary number, of events/classes when in fact we may have 30 or more scheduled out through the coming months. WE DONT WANT TO LIMIT THE VIEW to 10, or 15, or any other arbitrary number even though we can see the benefit of that on a mobile phone. So either an unlimited list on the photo grid view of ALL events or some sort of pagination so site visitors can see beyond whenever number ‘n’ hits the calendar date. Sometimes we have 3 classes on one day. Limiting to 10, or limiting at all, is unfathomable to us in the way we use EE. The number of events (classes) scheduled varies all the time depending on how may we have time to schedule in any given week, what out of town teachers are visiting, what time of year it is, etc. We can’t keep changing the code on the page every time the number of items in the events list changes, basically that would be almost every day. I’m thinking that Pagination is what we are looking for, like one might expect in a gallery. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks – J |
I can advise to raise the limit to a number that will effectively remove the limit, it’s clear you do not want a limit. You can set the limit value to something like 1000 and that will make it so you do not need to change the code, ever. e.g.
