Hi,

When I try to change the Default Registration Status under Events->Default Settings to “Approved” and press save, the old value “Pending Payment” comes back…

This might be a bug, or is it because I allready have a lot of events?

Hi there,

Thank you for reporting this, I can confirm the same problem on my test sites and have created a ticket for our developers to investigate.

Changing the default option only effects new events from when the option was changed so I noticed that the option does save as if you create a new event after selecting something other than Pending Payment the Default Registration Status (DRS for short) on that event is whatever option you set (which is the expected behaviour).

So if you set the option to ‘Not Approved’ it will reload and display ‘Pending Payment’ but if you create a new event and check the DRS it will be ‘Not Approved’.

If you need to change the DRS of all of the individual events you currently have you will need to edit each event and change the value set on the event itself.

I know this only applies to new events, but it sadly does not work. Will this be fixed in the next release?

And is there a way I can set this in current events?

The option does work, however it always displays ‘Pending Payment’ when the page loads.

I’m not sure which version if will be fixed within currently as it will need to be investigated, fixed and tested before being merged into our release branch.

Can you explain further please, I’m not sure what you mean.

Ok, I will test this.

What I meant was: For the events that are allready made, the DRS has no effect anymore you say. But is there a way to set all attendees on “approved” by default per event? Or do you have to set every attendee on “approved” manually for the older events?

Just to note the default ‘Default Registration Status’ setting always showing ‘Pending Payment’ when the setting page is loaded has been fixed in the next version of Event Espresso.

For the events that are allready made, the DRS has no effect anymore you say. But is there a way to set all attendees on “approved” by default per event?

You need to change the DRS on each of the old events manually, any registrations made after that change will then be whatever you set on that event.

To be clear, the default ‘Default Registration Status’ setting is this one – http://take.ms/TGDD9

Whatever value has been set there is used when you create a new event – http://take.ms/g4OCY

It is not a ‘global’ as if you have 1 single event set to ‘Not Approved’ and all of your other events were Pending Payment, if we globally changed that value that single event would no longer be set to Not Approved with that change and will cause more confusion having to re set old events to the ‘correct’ setting.

So you can set the Event ‘Default registration Status (this one – http://take.ms/g4OCY) independently on each single event.

Ok, thank you for the info. I have tested the DRS and it works.
