Hello there,

Ours is a new install on WP5.9 PHP 7.4 and WPEngine. I had two issues:
– system wasn’t sending emails to the test registration
– for a new event (and they’re all new), the system populated start and end dates automatically, and I can’t change the.

I copied our site into a staging area, disabled all themes and plugins and was able to resolve the email issue. But the dates issue is still not resolved. Additionally, when I try to change the dates on the popup menu, there is no way to close the menu and they stay there until I save or refresh the page.

I have spoken to WPEngine and they’ve made the changes suggested in this article: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/ – they advise that heartbeat API is throttled to 60 seconds, not disabled. I can drop it to something between 60 and 15 seconds but they don’t recommend it. Is there anything else known to cause this date issue? There may be other issues but no point progressing to anything further if this can’t be resolved.

Hi there,

This sounds like either a plugin conflict or a JavaScript error is being thrown but both would point to another plugin adding scripts to the editor and if you’ve disabled all of them that shouldn’t be happening.

Heartbeat and or Front end caching would not normally cause this either.

Can you post a screenshot of the date picker, please?

Also, if you check in your browsers dev tools console, can you see any JS errors there? (Chrome Dev Tools for example but most have one)

they advise that heartbeat API is throttled to 60 seconds, not disabled.

Guessing they’ve changed this as they used to disable it.
