Hi there Date picker is not showing up in latest version of Event Espresso 4.9.2. Can you advise – I have not got a licence on this one as yet as I am unable to buy another licence without upgrading to 5 licences which I don’t need so – so basically am using it for trial on a new website until I know for sure this will work. I also have this on another website (with licence) and date picker is there but have not updated to 4.9.2 as yet. Thank you in advance. |
Hi Rose, Is this within the Admin or Front end? If you open up Chrome Dev Tools (or similar), view the ‘console’ tab and try to open the date picker, do you see any errors there? |

This is n the admin area. Even in chrome the datepicker is missing. Also some of the shortcodes not working. I am using Kallyas Theme with page builder. Just seems to be since the update. I would like to get another licence as well if I can get this working as this is a different site I have on trialing. I want to get mailchimp add on as well as the calendar but just don’t want to buy unless shortcodes are fully working etc. I was wondering how I add another licence onto my existing account without having to upgrade to 5 licences. I need to do this for the updates. I also get an error message “There was an Error” when pasting shortcodes for events as well. Both in chrome and firefox. I hope you can assist. Cheers Rose |

Hi for some reason this has just started working!! |
Most likely the problem is your theme is causing a JavaScript error and the datepicker can not load, without knowing if there is an error I can’t say for sure. Did you open up dev tools within the admin and look in console?
Is that site running the same theme?
You would be best contacting our sales team regarding this, you can use the form here: https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Select sales/billing question and a member of our team will contact your shortly.
Can you post a screenshot of the error? I’m not sure if that is an error thrown by EE. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots |

Hi Tony thanks as always for your assistance. This is the page example http://109.199.126.128/~adminond/angelyoga.com.au/yoga-retreats-mt-martha/wellness-weekends-2/. The screen shots are https://www.dropbox.com/sc/h97tradvpfxnt1i/AABRWRTEaHVLj2LEHl6-a-kJa. What I tried to do was add shortcode for a category and then tried with widget on the right side. Image 2 shows an error message and note the shortcode does not bring up the events (this was pasted in text mode). Image 2 shows the incorrect date format for Australia. I have gone through the forums and created a plugin and embedded code and still nothing. Thanks in advance. |
The dates here: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/h97tradvpfxnt1i/AADPkHVXpTHMtHrlz63Xnbupa/0 use the date format you have set for your site within Dashboard -> Settings -> General (date and time format). What do you have set there currently? This error: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/h97tradvpfxnt1i/AABRWRTEaHVLj2LEHl6-a-kJa?preview=Image2.JPG Looks likes thrown by something within the theme, its not an EE error. (It may be an error cause when you use an EE shortcode, but the error is not somethin EE itself has thrown) but… The shortcode in use on that page is not an EE shortcode, you mean this one?
The EE shortcode would look something like:
You can find the EE shortcode within Event Espresso -> Events -> Categories. Heres an example from one of my test sites – http://take.ms/dUNNK So I could use any of the shortcodes listed there to display the events for each specific category. |

Hi Tony thanks for your response. Sorry I talked my client out of a plugin she was using and want her to use your plugin and had left the old shortcode. However it is still doing the same problem with the shortcode for the category. http://109.199.126.128/~adminond/angelyoga.com.au/yoga-retreats-mt-martha/wellness-weekends-2/ The widget is also not working. I have the date set to Australia in the dashboard. Need to get this moving for her. Any ideas please? Thanks again Rose |
This looks like a theme conflict.
What is the full shortcode you are currently using? It looks like your using the ESPRESSO_CALENDAR shortcode, however none of the scripts for the Calendar are being enqueued. If your theme uses a visual editor this can happen as the theme loads the content differently.
Where is the widget? Can you send a copy of the theme to support[at]eventespresso.com so I can take a look? |

Hi Rose, The error being thrown when you add the widget happens due to the way the theme loads the widget in the editor. The functions the widget uses from Event Espresso core are not available when the widget is being called in the visual editor so an error is thrown and the theme displays an error. Currently EE does not officially support visual builders so you will likely run into the same problem with any of the EE widgets and some of the EE shortcodes on that theme. It is possible to work around each of the issues but it will take custom development for each widget and also to include any scrips that are required by EE shortcodes run within the editor (for example the Calendar shortcode). If you are working with a developer we can provide some pointers into how they can work around the problems? |
