I’ve got a small wordpress site – maybe 10 pages and 40 or 50 posts. I’ve got 10 older events. I bought a support license and upgraded to the latest EE 4 to start hosting events. I started the database update manager at 9PM last night and it is 8:30AM now… It has finished ONLY 21% of the first update. That is crazy.
In the mean time, I can’t edit posts (NOT events, regular old posts) or anything. They timeout loading, or only partially load… At this rate the site is going to be unusable for more than 24 hours for each stage of the update. That isn’t workable.
How do I abort this? How do I make it run in a sane timeframe (less than an hour)? Or, alternatively, how do I get a refund on my support license if I’m going to have to restore from backup?
You can speed up the database migration by freeing up some memory on your server (and bump up them amount of memory available to WordPress too).
Can you deactivate some of the other plugins on the site while the migration scripts run? Also, there are some instructions on how to bump up the memory available to WordPress here:
