Hello,

I am receiving this error 30 times when I log into my account.

Database table wp_4rvmkytptz_esp_answer exists when it shouldn’t, and may contain erroneous data. If you have previously restored your database from a backup that didn’t remove the old tables, then we recommend adding . .

I have only run updates in the last couple of days and am not sure how to get this fixed. I don’t want to reset as I have a lot of data in my system. I saw on another support forum that you helped another lady correct this issue. Can you help me as well?

Thanks,

Grace

Hi Grace,

Just to confirm are you using the latest version of Event Espresso 4? (Currently 4.8.40.p)

Have you ever restored your database from a backup? (Recently or since the last EE update depending on when you last updated)

Do you run any kind of maintenance plugins? Database cleanup plugins etc?

You do not need to reset your data and can likely just dismiss those messages from the dashboard, however I’m just trying to narrow down why they are being thrown in the first place.

Hello,

Yes I am running the latest. Just now updated to 4.8.41. We have not restored our database from a backup. We run a back-up plugin that creates back-ups incase we need to restore but no other maintenance plugins.

So those errors are thrown when EE pulls some details from your wp_options table and checks what database tables you should have within your database based on that value (which should be the previous version number you have installed).

However sometimes we’ve found ‘something’ has altered (or removed) the details that EE uses. So it pulls the value expected a version number and receives nothing. EE then checks your database and finds all of these tables that its now not expected (because your previous version of EE was… nothing)

If you have not altered the database at all you can simply dismiss each of those warnings (click the dismiss link in the bottom right of each one) and they will be removed. On the next update to EE the option mentioned previous should now have your current version shown there which would prevent this happening again (unless something removes the value again)
