I’ve been reading a lot on the forums about doing this, but what I have done doesn’t seem to work. I have taken a copy of the content-espresso_events.php page and modified it – then put it into my child theme. What else am I missing to get the changes to show on the site? I am using a theme called RT-Theme 18. Do I, or don’t I, have to add code to my child theme’s functions.php page? Maybe that’s my problem…?
Thank you!

Hello! I have some not so good news and some good news.

Another member asked about this theme and we were able to determine that the theme doesn’t support custom post types which was then confirmed by the theme author. Custom post types are used by multiple plugins including Event Espresso, Easy Digital Downloads, Shopp, and so forth.

You can see the prior discussion here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/single-event-detail-page-problems/#post-156452

Also, you may be able to find some topics on this in their support forums. I couldn’t access them directly but the prior member was kind enough to share some screenshots of those support posts.

The good news is that I was able to get a workaround. Unfortunately, it required editing the theme files which means those edits will be lost on a software update.

If you would like to try it out, then please get in touch here and include a link to this support post:

Thanks!

Lorenzo
