Hi,

First of all I’ve found this thread that I thought would help me :

https://eventespresso.com/topic/customizing-email-messages/

but it didn’t :(.

I have a similar issue.
In General settings I have:

Primary Contact Email: info@summitu.ca
Phone number: 587.432.0471

In the template “Editing Email Registration Approved Template (Registrant Recipient)” I have those shortode at the end of the message (it’s basically the default template):

When I receive an email as a registrant, the phone number is empty and the email shows b@beginwithb.com … –> this is an email of the administrator, probably the author of the event if that may help solve the problem.

How do you explain that and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi Elnino,

Are you using the latest version of EE4?

Just to confirm are you looking at the event section or organization section of the email? – http://take.ms/F93Kn

Yes, using EE 4.8.21.
I think that’s the event section.

See screenshot.

Yes it is.

It looks like you have removed the organization section from the template, so all that is left to display is the event section, was that expected?

Because its specific to the event it uses the Event Author details and the Event phone number set within the event itself. The code used is:

Phone: <strong>[EVENT_PHONE]</strong>

Email: <strong><a href="mailto:[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]">[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]</a></strong>

Note they are event specific shortcodes as they begin with EVENT_, those shortcodes can be swapped out for the CO_EMAIL and CO_PHONE shortcodes if preferred, or the organisation section can be used and those details remain event specific so the email would then look similar to the screenshot I posted above.

I can provide further details on how to do either if you let me know which you prefer.

I did not remove anything from the default template for this particular message. You can see indeed that this section is in the EE admin:

So no idea why it doesn’t show up in the email I received.

I see now what you meant in the Event List template that the used shortcodes are [EVENT_PHONE] and [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]. I do now understand why no phone number shows up in my recipient email.

So my only problem is why the bottom section does not show up with the company info?

OK just discard my previous message, the problem was in Gmail, I forgot to click here that shows up the remaining of the message.

Do you know why Gmail hides this section by default? Could be an issue for our customers using Gmail …

I’ve removed my previous reply as it will only cause more confusion (as it doesn’t apply based on your second reply)

Gmail groups emails together and will hide repeated info within a message, so unless your users are repeatedly sending the same message to themselves this shouldn’t cause problems.
